The manifesto · 14 principles

Speak and write honestly about your convictions, and let your public life reflect your principles.
Make life expansive: seek challenge, travel, and firsthand experience as ways to understand the world.
Be resilient in the face of setbacks and keep moving forward after disappointment.
Value self-reliance and inner confidence over dependence on status or recognition.
Live with purpose rather than simply seeking safety or approval.
Use your talents to open doors for others and to expand what is possible for your generation.
Keep learning continuously and treat new skills as part of a full life.
Work hard and prepare thoroughly, because freedom and achievement depend on discipline.
Stay independent in thought and choice; do not let social expectations decide your path.
Accept calculated risk as part of growth and discovery.
Push beyond the limits others place on you, especially when those limits are based on gender or convention.
Take action and build experience through doing, not just through talking or planning.
Believe that courage matters more than comfort when you are reaching for a meaningful goal.
Pursue adventure and do not let fear of the unknown stop you from trying something difficult.
