Ted Kaczynski

View modern civilization as producing psychological emptiness, dependence, and loss of purpose.

Insist that people should live in ways that preserve independence from technological infrastructure.

Favor radical systemic change over incremental reform when confronting what he saw as structural domination.

Believe that human needs should be met within limits set by nature rather than by endless industrial expansion.

Reject the idea that technological and scientific development is automatically progress.

Hold that freedom cannot be preserved if society continues to adopt increasingly powerful technologies.

Distrust mainstream politics, media, and intellectual elites, which he viewed as part of the technological system.

Prioritize direct action and confrontation over reform from within existing institutions.

Avoid what he saw as the moral corruption and psychological damage produced by modern mass society.

Believe that human beings need struggle, danger, and meaningful effort to live fully, not passive comfort.

See large-scale organization, bureaucracy, and centralized power as threats to individual liberty.

Prefer a simple, primitive, or self-sufficient way of life over comfort, convenience, and consumer abundance.

Value personal autonomy and resist systems that make people dependent on large institutions, experts, and machines.

Treat technological progress as a source of social control and alienation rather than as a neutral force for good.

Reject modern industrial-technological society, which he argued is inherently destructive to human freedom and the natural world.
